Hon Mary Aliviza Mwami, declares her interest for Kilimani ward seat 2022

Hon Mary Aliviza Mwami ODM’s nominated member of the Nairobi county assembly has thrown her hut into the ring for Kilimani ward seat.

The nominated member who is representing people living with disability is expected to battle it out with the incumbent Hon Moses Ogeto who was elected on ODM.

Mary Alividza Mwami(Mwami in luhya dialect loosely translates to leader) is a seasoned politician and a woman who is so passionate when it comes to matters education.

Speaking on one of the FM stations, Hon Aliviza said that she has a clear cut vision on what she want for her Kilimani people.

“I have been a resident and a voter here in Kilimani for over 15 years. I understand pretty well what ails my people. Issues to do with noise pollution due to the mushrooming night clubs, water, sewer issues, roads and gabbage will be my priority upon getting elected” Mwami said.

When probed further to divulge her vehicle of choice, the straight talking MCA responded

“It is Baba’s party that sponsored me into the county assemby, I will therefore offer myself for election on Baba’s party” she said.

Hon Aliviza is an education champion and through her own personal initiatives, she has helped over 200 students study in secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and universities around the country.

“Education is key and helping young boys and girls achieve some level of education is what gives me joy. I have been Able to help quite a good number and with my elevation soon as an elected member, I will do much” added Mwami.

Hon Mary Aliviza is also a well educated woman with several degrees under her sleeve. She is also a counselling psychologist who is currently pursuing a PHD.

Hon Alividza is a born again recording artist who has also released several albums praising God.

“The whole purpose of living on this earth is just to honor God. This we can accomplish by worshipping Him through songs and serving humanity” Said Mwami.

Apart from Hon Mary Aliviza, other nominated members in the Nairobi county assemby who have set their eyes on elective politics include, Hon Mellab Lumalla who is contesting against Hon Clarence Munga in Kabiro ward and Hon Carolyne Mayunzu who will be battling it out with Hon Paul Mahamba of Kangemi central ward.

This is a new dawn as we see more women go for elective seats in a bid to cure the two thirds gender rule deficiency.
