Consider working with Ngatia for Nairobi governorship ‘Aladwa told.

Luhya grassroot leaders drawn from Makadara Constituency have called on their area Member of Parliament (MP) Hon George Aladwa to drop his Nairobi gubernatorial ambitions and consider being the running mate of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) chairman Richard Ngatia for the city’s Governorship.

The plea was made after Aladwa announced that he was going to launch officially his Nairobi gubernatorial bid on January 20th, 2022 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The grassroot leaders said the Ngatia-Aladwa combination was good given the wealth of experience the two have. Whereas Ngatia is a technocrat who will govern the city efficiently Aladwa would offer political leadership as a city politician of higher standing.

They said Ngatia was the best bet as Nairobi’s governor because he is a technocrat and a successful businessman who can turn around Nairobi’s fortunes and restore the Capital city’s lost glory whereas Aladwa would manage the political wing of the county government as the deputy owing to his experience as a politician by having served as a councilor, MP, Mayor and the ODM party as the Nairobi branch chairman.

The leaders said the Ngatia-Aladwa ticket was in line with the ideals of the Azimio la Umoja initiative of cohesion and togetherness as it will bring together a combination of Jubilee and ODM parties who are handshake partners.

The proposal was made by the 2013 Makadara Constituency aspirant and former Nairobi Liquor and Licensing board chairman Vincent Shimoli, Maringo ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) aspirant Anderson Amlele, John Mkabwa from Makadara, Hamza and Silas Kasamba opinion leader from Buru Buru, Harambee ward.
