Wake up from the D.O ‘hungover’ and Mentality” Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna schools Gachagua

Mairobi senator Edwin Sifuna has added his voice on the ragging Rigathi-Sakaja war of words.

For the past 3 weeks, the deputy president has made Sakaja his punching bag and over the weekend  he went a step further to declare on a local vernacular radio station that by virtue of his office, he can order around all governors.

In a hard hitting statement sent to news rooms, the  fiery Nairobi senator said that the deputy president is still suffering from the old KANU days where he used to run after helpless farmer’s chicken.

“It is obvious Gachagua is still has a hangover from his glory days as an all powerful DO confisicating chicken from helpless farmers. It is a good time to remind him that those days are all gone.Let  him keep off from the running of Nairobi county and instead concentrate on the many promises he and the president have made strictly in line with the constitution.” Said Sifuna.

Deputy president is effortlessly turning himself into a national joke, delivering illegal decrees and generally behaving like a DO from a bygone era.

I firmly believe that Gachagua can be safely ignored but I was elected by the people to draw the line on our constitutional and democratic order  when anyone, village clawns included evidently becomes a threat to both.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

DP Gachagua has in the past few weeks had a Tiff with Nairobi governor Sakaja over management of city affairs which right thinking Kenyans have rightfully ignored given the DP’s unmatched ability to be a national nuisance. But he has gone a step further to declare that he can direct all governor’s on what to do.

I now take it upon myself to school the DP.

1)The 2010 constitution in creating devolved units made it distinct governments in their own rights.
They are therefore not subject to direction or control by the national government. Governor’s don’t report to Gachagua. He has no power over county governments and must desist from interfering with their working.

2)Nairobians have stated unequivocally that they want the city to change. Changing the city cannot happen by making it a large kiosk paradise or a big matatu terminus under the guise of  Kazi ni Kazi.
In achieving this change the county government cannot and shall not be beholden to tribal blackmail, loose tongues or latter days pseudo mau mau and the it fake bravery we must change how Nairobi .

The straight shooting senator who doubles up as ODM party Secretary general wondered why Rigathi was over estimating his influence in Nairobi. Sifuna warned Rigathi to keep off matters Nairobi since the people who hold sway in Nairobi are yet to speak.

Sifuna has advised the county boss to remain focused and ignore Rigathi’s outbursts.
