In the video clip that resurfaced online, She said given the choice between Dr. William Ruto and Raila Odinga on the ballot, She will without a second thought vouch for Hon. Raila Odinga.
But yesterday while speaking to citizen TV journalist Wahigwa Mwaura, the Iron lady distanced herself from the remarks refuting the comment was made when there were no other presidential candidates in the race at the time.
She said, ” don’t box me into confirming that I stand by that statement, that statement was made at a time when the race was not open and I don’t think I stand with the statement anymore. Right now we have many candidates in the race and I will take time to examine their characters before I endorse anyone”
The Iron lady was also put to task to explain whether she supports the comments made by her counterpart Gatundu South Mp who is on record claiming, Mount Kenya should produce the next deputy president of Kenya to commensurate their numbers in the forthcoming election and also have 40% of the yet to be formed government positions.
The Narc Kenya leader could not affirm or deny the claims. But she went forward suggest that Central Kenya despite being the birthplace of Uhuru Kenyatta, the region has not received more development than any other region in the country so it deserves to claim its share in the forthcoming general election.
She told Wahigwa Mwaura ” I am not running for the presidency but my eyes are on the Kirinyaga Governorship come 2022. Once I am done with serving the people of Kirinyaga as the governor, that’s when I will run for the presidency of the Republic of Kenya” she said. So the race for Kirinyaga county is set to be an epic battle as Gov. Anne Waiguru has her job well cut out keep off Mathar Karua and her legion of schemes.
