During the 6:00 am vote hunting mission, the women in unison agreed to vote for the UDA candidates noting that this is the team that has been seen to stand with the masses even before campaigns kicked in.

Omanga, popularly known as “Mama Miradi” asked the women of Viwandani to vote for the Kenya Kwanza brigade stating with Deputy President William Ruto as the next President, Waithaka as the Area MP, Sakaja as Nairobi Governor, Bishop Margret Wanjiru as the Nairobi senator and herself, Omanga, as the Nairobi woman representative at the upcoming   August 9th General Elections.

Viwandani residents attentively listen to Waithaka and Omanga.

The women said that Omanga has been consistent in visiting and  supporting people in slums and other informal settlements and accused her opponent ODM’s Esther Passaris of ignoring the informal settlements even after voting for her during the last elections.

“We voted for Passaris and she took off. She has a very low opinion for the people in the ghetto and this time, we shall teach her a lesson” the women vowed.

Waithaka revisited his 10-point agenda for the people of Makadara noting that education will be prioritised once he is elected the next area MP. He said that he will ensure an effective way of giving out bursaries to the needy students in the area.

Bursaries will be available and given in a transparent manner. I also have a foundation, the Anthony Waithaka Foundation, which will also come in to provide bursaries above what the government provides,” Waithaka said.

Waithaka said that his leadership will ensure there is equity and that the people of Makadara get the change that they have desired for long.
