“Coming from a humble background, I encountered several challenges which strengthened my resolve to want to overcome. After my KCSE I came to the city and with little capital I started a small business which helped me to pay for my university fees” remembers Mr. Kidake.

Hard work and faith in God is key to success.

Mr Kidake remembers with nolstagia how he worked his way up.

Eyes on Vihiga gubernatorial seat.

Mr Kidake has travelled extensively visiting over 52 countries in his tour of duty. It is while visiting Vietnam that the passion to serve his people of Vihiga was born.

“My county of Vihiga is a sleeping giant, with the right leadership in place, we can transform this place and eradicate poverty that has lowered our dignity as a people, all we need is working systems” he says.

Kidake foundation serving all.

Whereas many people wait to be elected for them to serve, Hon Kidake has a different approach.
Through Kidake foundation, several youths and women groups have been empowered. The foundation has further rolled out a programme where 75 bright and needy students who are doing degree courses will benefit by having their fees paid. Even during these Covid 19 hard times, Kidake foundation has distributed over 50,000 re usable face masks to schools across Vihiga county (see pictures below)

“Just like Jack Ma, I believe that a successful person is one who can help empower others” Hon Kidake says.

“When I look at the immense resources in our county, the rich agricultural soil, the smiling stones of Bunyore which can create a global tourist attraction, I cry for my beloved county” he adds.

Kidake further believes that with sound programmes in place, Vihiga should be able to sufficiently address her peoples health, security and food needs.
“Why should we ferry our people to Kisumu or Moi teaching and referral hospital when our county is getting money from the central government? Quips Kidake.

Shock waves in the opponents camps.

Hon Kidake is so precise in what and how he want things done in Vihiga. This has sent shivers in the opponents camps thus giving them sleepless nights. However Kidake remains unbowed. His confidants have received chilling phone calls with warnings that he should go slow while others have outrightly insinuated that the Anc ticket will not be made available to him ‘Anc ina wenyewe’ they claimed.
This is informed by Kidake’s steadfast support for Mudavadi.
Those outside Anc are not left out either, they believe he is a formidable force and to them a weaker candidate in Anc will give them an easy ride.

Other than Hon Kidake and the incumbent Hon Otichilo, Sabatia Mp Hon Agoi, Sen Khaniri and former Governor Akaranga are all in the race for Vihiga governorship. On the threats Kidake said
“Iam focused and Iam driven by the passion to serve my people and change lives. My resolve is huge and the great people of Vihiga will decide. However I fully support Hon Mudavadi’s visionary leadership”.
