Azimio leaders welcome high court’s ruling over CAS.

Azimio leaders have welcomed the High Court ruling that declared the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) as unconstitutional.

Speaking at a rally in Siaya on Monday, the opposition leaders said the decision was timely as it lower the wage bill and save Kenyans from unnecessary expenses.

Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi who is also MP for Ugunja Constituency said President Ruto was inconsiderate in appointing 50 CAS as a time the country was facing economic difficulties. The leaders vowed to hold the government accountable to ensure that Kenyans are protected against irrational political decisions

“Vile mahakama imeaua kwamba hizo position ni unconstitutional… sisi tunaunga mahakama mkono tunasema hao watu waende nyumbani hao wote wafunge virago waende nyumbani,” said Wandayi.

Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga said: “Ruto you have taken your people all those who were deafeted in elections those who were left behind during elections and you have made them assistant ministers. Ruto what is wrong with you?”

MPs allied to Azimio vowed to shoot down the proposal by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission to increase the salaries of civil servants

“Sisi kama Azimio tumekataa hiyo nyongeza ya mshara. Tunanawambai hiyo mshahara wanataka kutuongezea wachukuwe waende wapatie na. Wasaidie nayo watu maskini,” said Wandayi.
