Imagine if this is how Dr. William Ruto is searching for power. How will he heal wounds he is creating on the campaign trail?

Dr. William Ruto has lately become a master of dichotomous politics. He has learned to play Cartesian split, a division of us vs them. As a leader who has ascended to the highest office in the land, one will easily conclude that, he has either missed advice from his committee or he has chosen to advise himself on every issue.

He comes out very forceful on every topic he talks about. As a leader, he looks like he is on a path of self-destruction, the good he has achieved over years of political journey in the country seems to be eroding him as time flies by. A leader of his caliber, shouldn’t take the path he has taken to galvanize the country along faulty divisive lines of polarity and poles of us vs them.

This is the nature of politics that has to send peaceful nations to the path of collision and outright chaos. As you observe the trajectory that the second in command has taken, you will not be amused by the emotive language he is using yet the actual campaign for the election is still far. In politics, you don’t pick fights with everything and everyone in the country. You play smart and sharp and not dump and wild just to prove a point. Politics of force are not necessary for this country.

The Deputy President is no longer persuasive in his language but very attacking and offensive even to people who seem not worthy of the attack. I may ask a question. Why is the deputy president attacking everything and everyone in his path? What if his strategy will accomplish the opposite instead of the desire he so wishes?

Attacking Oburu Odinga and suggesting that it doesn’t matter if he is made the IEBC chairman, was that really necessary? What ends will he achieve by this nature of verbatim? What happens to power holders who are watching him? Imagine if this is how Dr. William Ruto is searching for power, what would happen if he became president? How will he heal the wounds he has created on the campaign trail?
