NAIROBI, KENYA —
The Friends of Sifuna (FOS) Caucus officially launched its activities on Saturday, September 26, 2026, hosting its inaugural Mbuzi Forum at a Nairobi hotel.
Established a few weeks ago, the Caucus brings together a network of friends, professionals, alumni, community leaders, and political supporters. The platform is dedicated to shaping the policy, leadership framework, and overall national political strategy for Senator Edwin Sifuna’s anticipated 2027 presidential bid.
Core Strategic Mandate
The FOS Caucus operates on three main pillars:
- Resource Mobilization: Spearheading transparent fundraising initiatives to support campaign activities.
- Strategic Advisory: Delivering independent research, policy ideas, and strategic counsel to Hon. Sifuna.
- Network Expansion: Establishing FOS chapters across Kenya’s counties and engaging the Kenyan diaspora.
Building an ‘Ideas Room’ for Kenya
Addressing delegates at the launch, FOS Chairman Richard Ekhalie called on supporters nationwide to join the movement and contribute toward building a formidable presidential campaign.
Political analyst and FOS Strategic Adviser Martin Andati delivered the keynote address, urging the caucus to operate as a high-level “ideas room”. Andati outlined plans to form specialized task forces covering key national issues, including:
- Economic Transformation
- Agriculture & Food Security
- Youth Empowerment & the Future of Work
- Devolution & Governance
- Foreign Affairs
- Social Protection & Digital Kenya
Steering Committee and Growth Targets
The event was attended by over 20 founding members, with the leadership projecting a membership growth target of 500 within the next three months.
