The Arithmetic of Power: Why Sifuna’s Wamunyoro Move Was Pure Political Genius

By Anyula Nakuti for Good Morning Kenya News

In the ruthless arena of Kenyan politics, there is one cardinal rule that every master strategist understands: there are no unwanted voters.

When Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi leader Hon Edwin W. Sifuna made his bold journey to Wamunyoro on Mashujaa Day, the political establishment trembled. Pundits buzzed, critics sneered, and internet commentators lost their minds. But strip away the noise and look at the raw arithmetic: Senator Sifuna executed a masterclass in political maneuvering. He went to Wamunyoro because he understands power dynamics. Sifuna needs the backing of former Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, and he had the political courage to go directly to the source to court it.

Now, predictable echo chambers of Ruto diehards are panicking. They claim that by stepping into Wamunyoro, Sifuna has burnt bridges and lost their support. One must ask: How on earth can Sifuna lose votes he never had in the first place? You cannot lose what was already locked away in Ruto’s vault. To suggest otherwise is a delusion of the highest order.

Let us be brutally honest with ourselves. If you claim to support Edwin W. Sifuna’s presidential ambition to become the 6th President of the Republic of Kenya, yet you recoil at the thought of securing Riggy G’s formidable support base, you are playing political child’s play. Elections in Kenya are not won on moral posturing; they are won on coalitions, numbers, and tactical ruthlessness.

Make no mistake: It is Sifuna we are backing for the Presidency, not Riggy G. But let us shatter the grand hypocrisy peddled by the current regime. Is Rigathi Gachagua any worse than William Ruto when weighed on the scales of our nation’s darkest political vices? Let us lay out the six heavy baggages holding Kenya hostage today:

  1. Ufisadi (Unbridled Corruption): The state coffers are being drained dry while ordinary citizens suffer.
  2. Ukatili na Udhalimu wa Haki (Human Rights Abuses & Tyranny): Abductions, police brutality, and the silencing of dissent have become state policy.
  3. Ukabila na Ubaguzi (Tribalism & Discrimination): A government that openly divides citizens into “shareholders” and outsiders.
  4. Unyonyaji, Umaskini na Usaliti wa Kiuchumi (Economic Exploitation & Betrayal): Punitive taxes, soaring cost of living, and total betrayal of the common hustler.
  5. Uasi na Ukiukaji wa Katiba na Sheria (Constitutional Impunity): A blatant disregard for court orders and the rule of law.
  6. Ukoloni Mamboleo na Usaliti wa Taifa (Neo-colonial Subservience): Mortgageing our national sovereignty to foreign entities while selling out the future of Kenya’s youth.

Examine those six pillars of national ruin. Can anyone with a sound mind honestly argue that Riggy G carries a heavier burden on these counts than the current occupant of State House? Absolute absurdity.

Sifuna’s trip to Wamunyoro was not a surrender; it was an offensive play. It demonstrated political foresight, bravery, and a commitment to building a winning coalition capable of ousting a oppressive regime. The road to State House goes through every corner of this republic, and Sifuna just took a decisive leap forward.

To the critics crying foul, save your tears for 2027.

Class dismissed.
