I am ready for the daunting task of leading Vihiga county once Gov Otichilo retires-George Aladwa

The message of unity and development was at the centre stage during the Idd Baraza held at Boyusuf Primary school in Sabatia subcounty.

In an event that brought together the top county leadership of Gov Otichilo and Sen Osotsi also saw 2027 gubernatorial hopeful Hon George Aladwa attend the event.

While addressing the Baraza, Hon Aladwa challenged the people of Vihiga to fully support the incumbent governor.

I want to challenge the Muslim community and all the leaders in this county to fully rally behind our governor Dr Otichillo.His success as a governor is our success as a county.Once he successfully completes his term, Iam ready and willing to take over the mantle and lead this county and I know my elder brother Dr Otichillo will support me” said Aladwa.

When he rose to speak, Gov Otichilo thanked all for their unwavering support and only promised to support those who are walking with him in his journey of serving Vihigans.

As an elder, I will help in giving direction but only on that candidate who is development oriented” said Otichilo as the crowd roared Aladwa!Aladwa!

Aladwa further challenged the Muslim community to remain united even as they persue their rightful position in Dr Otichilo’s administration and even his coming regime.

The Idd Baraza brought together all the 30 Mosques in Vihiga county for the first time of the Islamic faith in Vihiga. Hon Aladwa donated foodstuffs and 50,000ksh towards the celebrations.

Later in the day, Hon Aladwa worshiped at Kisienya Salvation army church in Mungoma ward of Vihiga sub-county.

While addressing the congregation, Hon Aladwa thanked the church for their community service and shepharding the flock of Christ.

“I want to thank this church for its active involvement not only in spiritual nourishment but also for its community service.The love you people have shown me is so encouraging even as I embark on this journey of leading this great county” said Aladwa.

Hon Aladwa gave his personal donation of 70,000ksh towards the completion  of the pastor’s house.

Outside the church in Kisienya, Aladwa also addressed a mammoth crowd that withstood the heavy downpour just to listen to him.

As your incoming governor, three key areas will form the back borne of my government.
Education where I will ensure all eligible school going children are in school. I will ensure equality in distribution of bursaries.Health, Security and job creation.A healthy county is a progresive county. I will ensure health facilities are closer to mwananchi. Security and job creation go hand in hand. I will create a condusive environment for investors to throng Vihiga, create jobs for our people and the available jobs in the county shall be distributed to all the people of Vihiga equally” continued Aladwa
.

Over the long Idd weekend, Hon Aladwa has been traversing the vast Vihiga county where he has been popularizing his gubernatorial bid under his Mapema ndio best mantra.

On Saturday he attended a burial in Madira area in Vihiga sub county before later joining Tigoi PAG church to celebrate the retirement of Mama Elizabeth Iminza who was retiring.

At the church, Aladwa called on the PAG church to remain steadfast in their call, shun division  and focus on the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus.

Hon Aladwa contributed 20 000ksh towards the completion of the church.

Later that evening, Hon Aladwa paid a courtesy call to the first governor of Vihiga Hon Akaranga at his residence.

The two leaders discussed several matters of relevance towards making Vihiga better. This meeting has sent tongues wagging considering that many people expect Akaranga to vie as governor again in 2027 but he could be gravitating towards Aladwa’s candidature
