Isiolo North endorses Lucy Mworia for Parliament

Communities living in Isiolo have today unanimously endorsed former Ms President Reality TV Show contestant and women activist Lucy Mworia to contest for MP Isiolo North constituency in the August 9th 2022 general elections.
Mworia was endorsed for the seat during the official launch of Devolution Empowerment Party (BUS party) -Isiolo Chapter that was officiated by the Bus party leader Meru Governor H.E Gov. Kiraitu Murungi and attended by a host of other national and grassroots party leaders and aspirants from various counties.
Lucy Mworia who contested the Isiolo North parliamentary seat as an independent candidate joined the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) said that she is ready to serve the people of Isiolo noting that she will serve everyone without bias.
“I want to thank all of you for endorsing me for Isiolo North and I will serve all residents of Isiolo North with love and humility,” Mworia said.
“The Bus party will sweep across the region and our party leader Kiraitu Murungi is capable of steering the bus. We don’t have a presidential candidate and we shall take the direction that our party leader will give us.
Mworia’s entry into the ‘Bus party was a big boost for DEP as she enjoys grassroot support and has been in the past been actively involved in campaigns for both ODM and Jubilee in the region and is expected to translate her grassroot support to mobilize many passengers to board the ‘Bus’.
Mworia said she opted for the DEP because of the agenda it has contained in its party manifesto which has an emphasis on the interests of women, children and people living with disabilities.

Mworia said that the Bus party is an all inclusive party that seeks to strengthen devolution and empower all people in the grassroots.

“The party’s manifesto is in line with my aspirations and dreams of empowerment and development. This is the party of my dreams,” said Mworia.

Kiraitu said that the launch of the DEP in Isiolo was one of the most colourful and together with strong grassroots leader like Lucy Mworia, the party will be strong in the region.
“I boarded the bus on my way to Parliament to represent the people of Isiolo North and with the experienced Kiraitu seated in the driver’s seat am sure and confident that we will be able to achieve the best for our people,” Mworia said.
Mworia has vowed to popularize the party and mobilize many more people to board the ‘Bus’ in joining the DEP journey to Canaan.
We are all aware of how our County has been rocked by endless violence, loss of lives and property for years. My fellow Isiolo peacebuilders, instability in our County has not only robbed us human lives and property but it has robbed and killed the future of our children and of the generations to come. Instability and insecurity has blocked any possible economic growth and investments in our County.
It is for this reason today; Isiolo County has almost the highest rate of unemployment for youth and adults in Kenya.
