I fell in love with my sister but my parents stopped our marriage a Kbc presenter opens up

Love is blind so the old adage goes, blind to an extend that one could date and start marriage arrangements with a sister only for parents to nip them in the bud.

Tobias Kweyu (not real name) and Shanjili Grace (not her real name) narrated to us how they blindly fell in love despite being sired by the same father but different mothers.

The two love birds met while in a teachers training college in Asumbi and due to their close semblance started dating.
The two were the talk of the college and even their semblance never rang a bell in their heads. Kweyu was raised in Kakamega county by a mother who is a nurse at the county level 5 hospital while his father a heateacher in a local primary school for over 20yrs.

On her part, Grace was raised by a single mother in Nairobi. Little was spoken about her dad and any mention of her lost dad made her mother so uncomfortable and so she learnt to keep her many questions under lock and throw away the keys.

Well as their final year at Asumbi teachers college came to an end, Kweyu decided to introduce his fiancee to his parents back in Kakamega. The day was colourful and even both parents took a day off to wait for their would be daughter inlaw. When the pair arrived home, they first met Kweyu’s mother Angeline who was very happy to see her son make steps in the right direction. However the close semblance raised an alarm but after a short interrogation her doubts were sorted.

A shocker of the year hit the two love birds when Kweyu’s dad finally walked in. Upon shaking their hands and stealing two short glances at Grace, the old man wiped his eyes twice and without asking many questions the old man roared
“Young lady so Nancy Jadeya is your mother right?”. Your grandparents are still in Migori Kakrao area right?
The love birds were dumbfoulded at how the old man was so knowledgeable and before long, using his own wisdom asked the two if they had ever read the “constitution” to which the two said No. But on that day it was their day to read the preamble first.

The old man pronounced them as brother and sister and narrated to them how Grace’s mother disappeared without trace when she got pregnant while in school and him a final year college student at Asumbi.
A visit to start marriage turned into a re union of sort and the two thanked their gods for protecting them from an impending curse.

While hosting an early morning show at Kbc, Rama Ogutu also narrated a similar incident but he was saved from committing what luos call “chira” by his old man.
Rama went further and urged caution especially when dating but above all people should seek God’s guidance before engaging into relationships. The morning talk show host also urged parents to be frequently visiting their kins in the village to enable the dot com generations understand their roots well
