Meet Hon. Abdi Mohammed: Voice of hope in Kamukunji.

The expansive Kamukunji constituency is faced by a myriad of issues worthy attending to.

Dubbed as small Mogadishu due to the high numbers of the Somali speaking people.

Hon. Abdi Mohamed the patron of Voice of reason has shone a glimer of in Kamukunji.

Under his leadership, matters of human rights, abuse of drugs, social justice, and poverty eradication and sound governance.

“I founded this organization ‘Voice of reason’ to help address social inequalities in Kamukunji, matters of human rights and social justice among other issues.

After laying the foundations, I have taken a step back and let the team members run the organization fully. This has brought about a sense of ownership and leadership” Mr Abdi said.

Mohamed Abdi is a city businessman cum politician who has a great passion of serving humanity.

Some of the achievements by Voice of Reason under the stesardship of Hon Abdi include.

*Rehabilitation of street families and drug addicts.

*Helping the youth through start ups of businesses

*Mobilozation of resources to help pay hospital bills and funeral expenses.

All these are running across all the five wards in Kamukunji constituency.

When the covid 19 pandemic showed up, Abdi was at the fore even using his God given resources to help out the more vulnerable members of the community.

“During this covid 19 pandemic, we have managed to distribute food to over 5000 households. The situation in Eastleigh has been made worse by the lockdown but Allah has been gracious enough and has made it possible for us to help our people” Abdi added.

“We thank Bwana Abdi for his continued support to the youth, through his help we managed to expand our car wash business here in Eastleigh where he bought us a car wash machine” a young man identified as Erico said.

When asked about his future political ambitions Abdi was humble enough and said.

“For now we are fully helping our area Mp serve his term. Although people are pushing us to declare, we feel it is not right but we continue serving our people” Abdi said.

According to the amount of love shown to Abdi, the future of Kamukunji politics remain bright
