Mudavadi’s moving speech at Bomas of Kenya during the BBI launch leaves Kenyans yearning for more.

Kenyans from all walks of life gathered at the Bomas of Kenya to witness the historic launch of the Building Bridges initiative itself a product of the handshake between president Uhuru and his opposition counterpart Hon Raila.

The public unveiling of the report marks the end of the senator Hajji led team that traversed all the 47 counties collecting views from Kenyans. The report is anchored on the need to have an all inclusive government structure to nip the post election fracas that has visited Kenya thrice as a result of contested elections where those who have failed to win the prize feel left out in what has been termed as the winner take it all approach.

Both set of leadership graced the event and were accorded the latitude to converse on the issues at hand.

The Hon Musalia Mudavadi leader of the ANC party and a 2022 presidential hopeful moved the crowd with his well delivered speech on what he and his party observed on the report.

” The BBI report is finally out and it is incumbent upon us to interrogate it and fine tune it. A constitution is not like the 10 commandments, this one can be amended and made better. Having consulted deeply with all the ANC party organs, allow me to state just a few things that we have observed and believe if fine tuned, the document will be even better’ Mudavadi said.

On Devolution.

On devolution, the ANC leader said that increasing the county allocation to 35 percent is a good thing but denying the senate the prestige of over-sighting the devolution and how monies are allocated and used by counties was negating on the gains made on devolution.

On Judiciary.

On Judiciary the ANC leader observed that to enhance the independence of the judiciary, it would be wise to let the chief justice appoint the ombudsman as opposed to the president appointing the said officer.

On economy.

While saying that the government should invest in empowering the nation, Hon Mudavadi observed that the national debt ratio was worrying and advised against the ever increasing national debt that was eating on the nation’s ability to expand.

Hon. Mudavadi received a standing ovation as he ended his speech with Kenyans jamming all online sites praising Mudavadi for his sober and reflective views on matters affecting the nation.

“Mudavadi stands out as a sober and humble leader, with such people in leadership Kenya will be greater’ a social media enthusiast wrote.
