Hon. Abbas Khalif Pledges KSh 4 Million Support to AFC Leopards Youth and Women Teams.

The AFC Leopards Club and the wider Ingwe fraternity have received a major morale and financial boost following a high-level engagement with Hon. Abbas Khalif, MCA for South C Ward, who reaffirmed his commitment to the club’s growth and sustainability.

Addressing AFC Leopards branches and club leadership, Hon. Khalif expressed deep admiration for the club’s history, fan base, and its role in shaping Kenyan football.

He announced a KSh 4 million contribution aimed at easing financial constraints affecting the women, youth, and junior teams, with a focus on nurturing young talent across the country.

“AFC Leopards (Ingwe) is not only the backbone of the Luhya Nation, but a pillar of Kenyan football and the country at large. I will stand with this great club and its people,” Hon. Khalif said.

The support forms part of a broader partnership between Hon. Khalif and the Ingwe family, including a commitment to continuous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in collaboration with the club and its supporters.

Club officials welcomed the pledge, terming it timely and transformative.

The KSh 4 million will be handed over on Wednesday, with a prior agreement for an additional KSh 4 million set for September, as arrangements are underway for a team visit in the near future.

The meeting, which brought together AFC Leopards leadership and branch representatives, was coordinated by Duncan Kegode, a well known Ingwe diehard fan.

Discussions centered on strengthening governance, supporting grassroots development, and mobilising the club’s massive fan base under the banner of the Mulembe Nation.

As the club gears up for an official launch scheduled for Wednesday, the AFC Leopards family has pledged to fully support the initiative and ensure its success.

Hon. Khalif, who has also expressed interest in the Lang’ata Member of Parliament seat, reiterated that his engagement with AFC Leopards is driven by passion for sport, community development, and national unity.

AFC Leopards remains not just a football club, but an identity, a family, and a symbol of pride for Kenya.
