Faith Norah Lukose: Kazi mtaani initiative by NMS a step in the right direction

A city youth leader Faith Norah Lukose has lauded the Kazi mtaani initiative by the NMS.

Faith in Waruku today.

Speaking in Waruko area during the launch of the kazi mtaani initiative, she thanked the youth for positively engaging and coming forth to benefit from the county government sponsored programme.

“Today l had the opportunity to engage with the young people and women of Waruku in Kileleshwa Ward, Westlands where together with the area chief we officially launched the Kazi Mtaani  Initiative.

I congratulate the Nairobi Metropolitan Service for their quick intervention to ensure sufficient water supply and the ongoing efforts to build sewer lines and open up our informal settlements. We all agreed that the Kazi Mtaani slots should be given out on merit and that payments should  be made in time.” she said.

Faith has also been engaging the youth in ensuring they grow up into responsible citizens.

# Teen pregnancies menace.

While appreciating the sad state of affairs brought about by Covid19 pandemic, Faith took time to speak to teens to take life seriously by not engaging in pre marital sexual escapedes.

“The future is in our own hands, we should go out there and openly talk about effects of early pregnancies that have taken toll on our young girls  thus shuttering their otherwise bright future. We should not leave this matter to teachers and parents alone  this should  be a collective responsibility. Current Waruku area has an alarming number of young girls who have been preyed on forcing them into pregnancies” she added.

Faith Norah Lukose is a practicing lawyer and leading voice on youth and women issues in Nairobi. She also has her eyes fixed on the Nairobi county seat in 2022
