Hon Aladwa scoffs at the plot to impeach transport Cs Macharia terming it an indirect attack on President Uhuru by Nyali Mp Hon Mohamed Ali

Makadara Mp Hon George Aladwa has scoffed at his Nyali counterpart Hon Ali over his spirited efforts to have transport Cs MrMacharia impeached

Aladwa termed the crusade an “indirect attack on president Uhuru” in his effort to leave a lasting legacy on a corruption free Kenya.

Below is his statement.

STATEMENT ON THE PURPORTED MOTION OF IMPEACHMENT AGAINST TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURE CABINET SECRETARY JAMES MACHARIA.

My attention has been drawn to a frivolous and malicious Impeachment Motion against the Cabinet Secretary for Transport James Macharia spearheaded by the Hon. MP for Nyali Mohammed Ali.
For the record, I would like to state that CS Macharia is a highly competent technocrat whose track record would define the enduring legacy of His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta.

CS Macharia is one of the public servants who have given their all to serve the country and we can’t reward him by unnecessary drama of baseless impeachment motions whose agenda is simply mudslinging and spoiling his good name. The character assassination by Hon. Ali couched as impeachment motion is in fact an attack on His Excellency the President.

CS Macharia is the cornerstone of the over 8,000 kilometer of road network that President Kenyatta has delivered. The SGR project, the single biggest flagship project in Kenya’s history, and which Hon Ali is now using to fight CS Macharia has employed thousands in Kenya. SGR cuts through many Constituencies in Nairobi, including Makadara and we have seen its direct benefits.

We have in the past witnessed motions that are brought to the house either to serve interests of sponsors who may not be members of parliament or to blackmail public officers into towing a certain line. Perhaps this one falls in that category. I am aware there are some disgruntled players within Jubilee party who maybe hell bent to bring down President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda and since CS Macharia holds the key infrastructure docket, it’s not by surprise that he is the target.
Hon. Ali should consider withdrawing the motion to avoid the public humiliation of how the motion will be shot down.

What Hon. Ali is doing amount to an abuse of parliamentary processes to intimidate other state officers. It’s my hope that house speaker Justin Muturi will not approve the motion especially given that about 50 MPs who had early signed the petition have since withdrawn their signatures. However should he approve it, then I and those of my like minds will mobilise colleagues to shoot down the motion on the floor of the house.

As ODM MPs from Nairobi, we have and will continue expressing our confidence on the work of CS Macharia and the President’s Big 4 Agenda in the spirit of Handshake.

Lastly. I wish to render some unsolicited advice to Hon. Ali who is a political novice. He is a light weight in Kenyan politics and has NO political muscle to impeach a CS. I advise my colleague to concentrate on service delivery to his people of Nyali instead of engaging in a zero sum game sponsored by cartels.

HON. GEORGE ALADWA OMWERA
MP MAKADARA.

ODM NAIROBI COUNTY CHAIRMAN.
