Lock down looming in Kenya, Kenyan leaders give their opinion to lock or not to lock?

Hon William Kabogo Former Governor Kiambu

Former Kiambu Governor Hon Kabogo urges the Parliament to have a special siting, draft and pass a lockdown bill. Rent waived for 3 months and casual workers to be paid.

Hon.Ndindi Nyoro MP Kiharu

At the very least, we must LOCKDOWN urban areas. Rural Kenya is at very little risk. However, we have no choice in regards to all urban areas. Zero choice. Coast is in red and we are still operating ferry services! This is careless. We are African and Africa is our Business.

Lawyer Donald B Kipkorir

To lock #LockDownKenya will be the most FOOLISH DECISION & will unravel Kenya. 80% of Kenyans live from day to day & lockdown mean that they will either starve to death or eat their neighours who are healthy! Countries that have gone lockdown are RICH .. Kenya is Poor & Corrupt.

Hon.Alice Wahome

H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and your Deputy H.E William Ruto. Its time for Lockdown.Lets start with Kilifi County.Disaster could spread from there very first due the case of the DG of that County.

Hon. Renee Mayaka Nominated MCA Nyamira

Yes a lockdown would be a very ideal solution, but then again, let’s also remember that very many Kenyans survive on business based biashara of a hand to mouth nature and a day in doors means a day with no food at All and if not properly managed it could spiral into a very desperate situation.

We all want a solution that could help prevent further spread of this monster but even as that is taken into consideration as an option, it is my hope and prayer that should this be an option the Government is considering that it should also be armed with a way out for Folks who’s daily bread comes from daily hustle and toil, else it would bring additional pandemic who’s nature could include the HAVE NOTS eating The HAVES!

Hon. Boni Khalwale

Even as we encourage the government to lockdown, there is a lot of responsibility that will accompany the lockdown. People will not be able to pay electricity bills, rent, water bills etc. The government should take up that responsibility. ~ Boni Khalwale
