With the government of Kenya issueing directives through the ministry of health which goes hand in hand with other measures in containing the sporadic spread of this killer covid 19, many organisations, groups and individuals at personal level have taken upon themselves the responsibility of emphasizing these measures in their own areas of jurisdiction.
Maverick youthfull city politician who doubles up as Odm Nairobi county youth leader and the current Member of Nairobi county assembly for Upper Savanna ward, has taken the war against covid 19 as a personal responsibility.
While assesing the level of caution and what his Upper Savanna Ward residents were doing during this hard times, Hon Stazo praised area residents for heeding the call by the government health practitioners.
“I am impressed by how our people here at the ward level are responding to government directives. I have walked around supermarkets and shops and I can see sanitizers and water points for all to wash their hands.
Our brothers in the transport indutry too here at Donholm stage have taken reponsibility by ensuring that those boarding matatus are sanitized while ensuring social distance of one metre” Hon Stazo said.
On the fear that traders may hoard stuff with the aim of hiking prices, the area leader said.
“As a leader in this area I must commend our traders, they have so far not hoarded goods or hiked prices. With such spirit we as Upper Savanna community will go far” Stazo said.
Hon. Stazo has also lauded the government for the measures in place so far in combating covid 19. On the curfew that is taking effect today, the Savanna ward mca said Kenyans should should not take it as a punishment but as a way of protecting themselves and other citizens from further spread of Covid19.
Hon. Stazo has several women groups in his ward urging him to move a step further in leadership and with his area member of parliament Hon Babu Owino going for governorship in 2022, Hon Stazo is set to easily clinch the Embakasi East seat. He spoke exclusively to goodmorningkenya.
