AFC Leopards Stewards Undergo CAF-Led Safety and Security Training

One of Kenya’s most historic football giants, AFC Leopards SC, has taken a significant step toward enhancing stadium safety and fan experience by organizing a comprehensive stewards’ training on safety, security, and service delivery.

The training, aimed at empowering match-day stewards and strengthening their relationship with fans, brought together participants drawn from the club’s various branches. Each branch was given the opportunity to nominate two fully registered club members to take part in the program a move designed to promote inclusivity and build capacity across the board.

The session was facilitated by CAF Zonal Security Officer Kingsley Litali, who equipped the stewards with critical knowledge and skills on crowd management, safety protocols, and customer service within stadium environments.
Speaking during the training, the club’s CEO Ronald Namai emphasized that the initiative forms part of the club’s broader strategy to professionalize its operations and ensure supporters enjoy matches in a safe and well-organized environment.

This is part of our deliberate plan to empower our stewards and enhance their capacity to serve our fans better. Our supporters are our major clients and key stakeholders,” he noted.

The training is expected to play a vital role as the country continues preparations for major continental tournaments, including the upcoming AFCON, where high standards of safety and security will be paramount.
