Musalia Mudavadi Writes a Cheque of 633,000 to Ministry of Lands to pay for AFC Leopards sc Land Title Deed

AFC leopards was formed in 1964 and since then, owning of its main stadium or training ground has been a thorn in the flesh for many years now.

The former and the late president Daniel T Arap Moi had previously donated a piece of land to AFC leopard sc. and Gor mahia equally.

But due to mismanagement and constant wrangles or for lack of a better word, poor implementors in the den, the piece of land was almost getting lost.

But the coming into the Den of former player Dr Dan Shikand and the entire unit of former players including Peter Lichungu and others, good thinking seems to be working positively for the club.

The crop of former players have traced that history of tland and have been following it for some years now.
Peter Lichungu the former lethal winger had kept the allotment letter all these years and together with the current office led by Dr. Dan Shikanda have managed to follow the process at the ministry of lands.

Today, the ANC boss Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, AFC leopards fan number 1, with AFC leopard Chairman number 1 Alfred Sambu, have today presented to the club chairman in the presence of the captain and other players a cheque of 633,000 thousands written to the minstry of lands as fees to process the title.

This is good news, to fans of leopard and to the entire fraternity of the Den. This is the greatest moment of all time in the history of the club. Organisations that were born at the same time as leopards have grown in assets, have acquired assets along the years but the legendary club, the oldest in the country was a laughing stock among its equals.

Owning the stadium means many things to management and the fraternity of the leopards. Previously the management has spent millions of shillings paying for training facilities, sometimes incurring uncomfortable and unnecessary expenses.

Sometimes the club has not paid the facility fees and in the process, they have been stopped from using the field. Poor training fields have costed players untold injuries because of poor surfaces. But when a team owns its own training field or surface, then the quality of the field is always conditioned to avoid these kinds of injuries.

With this title, it means that the club will have a 10 acre piece of land to build its own stadium and consequently its training field, build an academy to grow feeder teams.

This venue will increase the income of the club and alternatively help the management to plan properly for management of the club. Hon. Musalia Mudavadi has also promised to continue helping in paying for the salaries of players.
