Nairobi gubernatorial frontrunner Richard Ngatia set to submit his nominations papers at Jubilee headquarters today.

Nairobi, Friday 18th March, 2022:

Nairobi gubernatorial front runner the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) president Richard Ngatia will today return his nomination papers to Jubilee party headquarters.
Ngatia, who has lead in nearly all opinion polls conducted on the preferred candidate for Nairobi governor will be the first candidate to present his papers to seek party nominations ahead of the April party nominations.
The move is expected to silence critics who had this week gone on a smear campaign against Ngatia claiming that he did not have the requisite papers to qualify for election as governor
.
The Chamber of commerce boss is set to present his nomination papers to the ruling party headquarters at Pangani setting the ground for gruelling campaigns to win the Jubilee nod and claim the Azimio La Umoja coalition ticket. Sports Monthly understands that the Azimio la Umoja coalition is likely to come to a consensus to have Jubilee field the gubernatorial candidate while ODM nominates the deputy governor.
Ngatia, who last month emerged the most preferred candidate within the Jubilee party, is a close ally of Jubilee party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and has been rumoured to have the backing of the head of state.
Ngatia has been on an aggressive campaign trail in the city earning him the tag of the man to beat in the August 9th general elections.
The business magnate has anchored his campaigns on an economic empowerment pedestal especially endearing himself to the small scale traders and operators of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) who see him as a fellow business person who has the acumen in business that can be emulated. As well, he has fashioned himself as the man who revive the business environment within the city.

“As I return my papers today, I urge all Nairobians to support my candidature and my dream to reclaim the lost glory of our city. I believe I am fit to run Nairobi and help Raila Odinga in his administration when he will be President,” said Ngatia.

Ngatia, who until his entry into city politics was largely un known in the circles of politics has had opponents running amok as his ratings continue to sky rocket.
On the campaign trail, Ngatia has laid very strategic and deliberate methods in how he approaches things and has emerged as the champion for clean politics devoid of insults and mudslinging advising that insults will eventually expose the Azimio La Umoja candidate to attacks by opponents way after the party primaries.
His shrewdness in business if translated into the political arena will make even the so called political gurus run helter skelter, this to the benefit of the Nairobi electorate.
