Respect Ruto or close shop Eldoret youth demand as they burn copies of The Standard newspaper.

There was drama in Eldoret town as youth descended on newspaper vendors, seized copies of the standard newspaper and set the ablaze.

The irate youth were infuriated by a headline carried by The standard saturday edition depicting Hon Ruto as a ceremonial deputy president.

“Big office no power”

The story article has however angered DP Ruto’s supporters who now see Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s hand in attempts to derail his 2022 presidential bid.

The Moi family own the Standard Group, the parent company to Kenya Television Network (KTN), Standard Newspaper and a number of radio stations, including Radio Maisha

The youth have henceforth vowed never to allow the sale of the standard newspaper if it continued disrespecting the DP
