KNPSWU honors exemplary shop stewards in Nairobi County as National elections approach.

Kenya National Private Security Workers Union honoured exemplary shopstewards in Nairobi County.

The KNPSWU Nairobi County branch Secretary Bro. Joash Soita graced the occasion. While applauding the shop stewards for a job well done and individual efforts in carrying out membership organization and recruitment in their respective mother companies despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

” Union is membership and the only better way of building Union base is through frequent interaction with members through Timum parades said Soita.

He urged the worker’s representatives to remain steadfast and prioritize service to members as leaders.

Soita reiterated that KNPSWU is the legally bonafide Union of representation for private security officers in Kenya including rangers, waters, and VIP officers. He challenged Union members to shun proponents of divisive Union politics and propaganda instead focus on building KNPSWU collectively.

We have had a fair share of challenges affecting union membership since the Covid 19 pandemic hit- we have lost lives of guards, jobs and witnessed immense stress and cases of depression amongst our members. It is our prayer and hope that the situation will normalize in 2021 and see us forthright on track in delivering services to our members.

Soita called on all Shop stewards and officials to emulate Securex Company limited Union representatives in regards to their dedicated efforts in handling the workers grievances.

The Union is about the representation of workers and more so dispute and grievance handling as well as CBA engagement for the good of workers. Soita said the Union will replicate the honoring of exemplary shop stewards and officials in all the other 14 branches across the country starting this year. He reminded the shop stewards that union elections right from the grassroots to national level were underway and called for a healthy competitive and democratic election of branch officials that can effectively deliver services to workers; devoid of compromise. The KNPSWU Nairobi branch elections are slated for 30th January 2021 while the rest of the branches will conduct respective elections on 19th February 2021.
