Festus Musambi Steps Forward: Engineer With a Heart for Gatina Unveils Bold Vision in MCA Bid

As 2025 draws to a close and Kenya prepares for a heated political season, new leaders are emerging—leaders who promise to bring integrity, innovation, and people-focused governance. In Dagoretti North’s vibrant Gatina Ward, one such figure is rising steadily: Festus Mudambi, the engineer and businessman who has officially launched his bid for the MCA seat.
On Saturday, against a backdrop of excited residents, Mudambi declared his candidacy, signalling what many believe could be the beginning of a new era for the ward.
Born over 30 years ago in Bunyore, Vihiga County, Festus grew up in Gatina, schooled here, and has lived most of his adult life serving in the same community he now aspires to lead.
“I was born over 30 years ago in Bunyore land of Vihiga County. I have lived most of my childhood life here in Gatina. By the grace of God I schooled, went to college and now I am working right from Gatina. I believe I have what it takes to transform Gatina Ward.”
A Vision Rooted in Real Community Priorities
With a background in engineering and business—particularly in supplies and transport—Festus centers his bid on practical solutions that touch the everyday lives of residents.
His agenda focuses on improving infrastructure, ensuring transparent and fair bursary allocation, delivering reliable clean water, and empowering youth through skills, opportunities, and organized programs.
These are not political buzzwords for him; they are commitments informed by years of watching his community struggle.
During his announcement, he told residents:
“When you think big, don’t only think for yourself. Think for others. In Gatina we have not had a leader with a big, generous, accommodative and loving heart.Development-oriented, focused and self-directed leadership is what we need.”“Don’t try me—I’m qualified. Let’s do it.”
Christmas of Hope: Giving Back to the Community
Over the weekend, Festus spent time distributing food packages and calendars to families across Gatina, a goodwill gesture that resonated deeply, especially during a season when many are struggling with rising costs of living.
He urged residents to keep their faith in better days:
“Keep hope alive, trust in God, and vote for me as your next MCA.”
A Determined 2026 Ahead
Festus promises that 2026 will be a year of full engagement with the people. He intends to walk every village cluster, knock on doors, listen to residents, and craft solutions side-by-side with them.
“Good and poor leadership is determined by your vote. Purpose to actively engage by voting in proper leadership.”
The Road to the County Assembly
The Gatina MCA seat—currently held by Jon Swaka Kennedy of ODM—has attracted several contenders. But Festus is positioning himself as the grounded, practical, and community-rooted choice; a leader offering not just promises, but a credible blueprint for change.
Gatina residents are beginning to envision a future led by someone who understands them deeply—a son of the ward who has lived their realities and is ready to deliver transformative leadership.
