AFC Leopards bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Police FC as they snapped a winless run of four FKF Premier League matches in some style.

The fixture was moved to the Nyayo National Stadium where Leopards have made a habit of winning and were again on a different level to overpower Police.

Victor Omune, Eugene Mukangula and John Makwata were on target for Leopards who are now unbeaten in nine league matches with the result moving them into tenth place on the standings on 31 points

Police one place behind them and three points adrift.
In Sudi, Nzoia Sugar were held in a barren draw by Vihiga Bullets with the hosts spurning numerous opportunities to take all three points.

Posta Rangers plunged Mathare United in deeper relegation trouble with a 2-1 victory thanks to Timothy Otieno’s second half brace to turn the game around after Austin Ochieng’s opener.

At Nyayo, Leopards dominated straight from the start and were rewarded in the 14th minute when Omune opened the scoring following some neat interchange between Cliff Nyakeya and Lewis Bandi.

Omune was a thorn in the flesh of the Police defence marshalled by former Gor Mahia machines of Musa Mohammed and Harun Shakava and the second goal was just a matter of time.

Patrick Aussems’ charges pressed for the second with the goal coming just five minutes before half time through Mukangula with Omune turning provider.

Police should have pulled one back on the stroke of half time but goalkeeper Levis Opiyo did well to save from Clifford Miheso’s dangerous free-kick.

Leopards returned for the second half with the same vigor with they began the match and Makwatta nearly got the third only to flick his headed effort into the upright.

He would not be denied with the second time of asking as he found the net with a sumptuous overheard kick beyond goalkeeper Job Ochieng.

That came via some lovely play between the substitute Josephat Lopaga and Cliff Nyakeya with the former getting the assist.

Opiyo was forced into a fine save from Lesley Owino’s powerful bullet from close range to deny the home side from a Consolation goal.

Nzoia frustrated

At the Sudi Stadium, Nzoia controlled the game in the first proceedings but did not utilize any of their open chances with just Vihiga Bullets keeper to beat.

Nzoia’s Okanda Felician came close in 22nd and 34th minute but his shots wend wide, this disappointed Nzoia Sugar FC fans.

The Millers picked from where they left from in the second half, threatening Bullets back four time to time but nothing was forthcoming.

The contest offered little in the last stages as each side missed open chances to score
