It all started on 26th December when he hosted over 200 politicians in his rural home of Butere to plan for the Bukhungu BBI rally. Our sources indicate that all who attended left with between 100k -500k depending on ones seniority. During the meeting Atwoli and his henchmen had plotted to sideline both Hon Wetangula and Hon Mudavadi out of the Bukhungu event but Mudavadi and Wetangula showed up much to the dissappointment of Atwoli. Atwoli single handedly bankrolled the Bukhungu event to a tune of 90M and paid for and or facilitated all luhya political leaders outside Western to attend which cost about 20M too.
Atwoli set a side 10 Million for Nairobi team of Mca’s and key opinion leaders to grace the event. Although some leaders complained that some of the 10M facilitation fees never reached them, Atwoli gave the cash out nevertheless.
Subsequently, Atwoli has been facilitating most luhya leaders to all BBI rallies a cross the nation. This too has dealt a dent on his purse.
Atwoli was overheard wondering how Deputy president William Ruto manages to hold atleast 3 high end events every week.
Atwoli is so frustrated to a point that he threw off his iphone in a live media interview shouting Mshenzi saana. Although the mshenzi was directed to the Deputy president, those in the know have intimated to us that Atwoli was lamenting over his dwindling bank balance
