Otherwise, if this trend is left to go on, Kenya will slide into a class war, ethnic war and finally everyone will be affected.

Kenya’s moral fiber is fast deteriorating, fast sliding into us vs them courtesy of political rivalry, competition and self grandiosity among the to ruling class in the country.

Kenya is a county with few rich individuals and many more hopeless poor folks. The fault line, the line that separates the two is thin and just like an old thread on a fast fading attire, losing its composure is no longer a big work in fact it is just a delay.

Long are the days when religion used to inspire downtrodden folks, church used to give them strength, hope and joy, that today, despite the challenges, tomorrow’s promise is something to look up to.

The church is now invaded, permeated by politicians without spiritual compass. The politician’s maps are far from what the congregants expect during the service. They have bribed the church, infiltrated the church’s apex and the bottom of the pyramid is now left in a poor state, their daily challenges not withstanding.

These politicians have creatively subdued the pastors, the bishop and the clergy. The moral cops have been trapped, incarcerated and imprisoned by the politicians. The politicians trooping the church for free audience come not armed with the word of God but with personal egos, interests and brown envelops that don’t trickle to church goers but are secretly handed to the church leadership before hell breaks loose.

Spiritual sermons are rare this days as politicians rise to attack their perceived enemies whenever given the opportunity through the pulpit. Even though church has an open door policy, this policy has been abused, misused and used a conduit to receive proceeds of corruption from the so called politicians. It it now a competition among the churches to host the perceived wealthy politicians.

The word of God through the bible is very clear. We are all equal before the eyes of God. But how the clergy and the current bishops have elevated mere politicians to high status more than the members of the church defeats logic. It is this act that baffles critical thinkers, how do the church give priority to those who have robbed the government front seats? While those who have committed others crimes but don’t have money to give to bishops, rarely receive the same treatment when they visit the church.

These errands from politicians aided by the clergy is now causing serious division within the large population. The seeds of dynasty vs hustlers has been planted through the pulpit yet the same clergy has not been wise enough to rebuke this divisions or classification of members of the society by the guest politicians.

While this is going on, the clergy is still welcoming politicians and giving them microphones and pulpit to spew their hate. This hate is being converted into negative energy by the supporters of the politicians. It is time Kenyans of good will called on these politicians to desist from spewing negative energy towards their perceived opponents.

Its time Kenyans of good will called on the clergy to also desist from giving politicians their pulpit to spew this hate. It is time the church goers put a stop to such madness happening within the church. Otherwise, if this trend is left to go on, the country will slid into class war, then ethic war and finally everyone will be affected.
