Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has come into the defense of his erstwhile critic senator Irungu Kang’ata over the storm raised by his letter to the president over BBI.
To add weight on the assertions as contained in the letter, Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua has further said that the under fire senator should be honored for speaking the truth thus saving the handshake.
Whether BBI is popular or not, Sen Kang’ata has raised substantial issues that unless urgently addressed, the handshake will suffer a humiliating defeat in the forthcoming referendum.
According to the good senator, only two out of every ten voters from mt Kenya region support the proposed changes.
There have been media speculations that the letter was fake but Sen Irungu took to his twitter page and claimed authorship of the letter only blaming an unnamed person he copied for leaking it to the media.
