Confusion in Zambian super league as Duncan Otieno and Shakava will have to wait longer to lift the title

TITLE DECIDER MOVED TO SUNDAY

If you ever thought we had enough of drama pertaining to the premature ending of the current season then you have to seat down and watch as more drama keeps unfolding.

Yesterday was the day the ZSL 2019-20 was to know the champion as two teams were vying for it with Napsa Stars playing away to Forest Rangers who were the home side in a tightly contested match played this afternoon at Arthur Davies stadium.

Across the road was Nkana FC who got a walkover against Nakambala Leopards as they could not travel reason being they gear players will get infected with Covid-19.

The wusakile outfit were assured of three points with three goals and all the attention went to support Forest Rangers who successfully defeated Napsa Stars with a lone goal.

That win sent Nkana faithfuls in celebration but their joy was cut short as immediately after full time scores news came in that the appeals committe has overturned the ruling in which Zanaco were awarded three points and three goals and that the match will have to be played this coming Sunday.

Nkana FC now tops the league with 50 points followed by Forest Rangers with 49 points of which the former will only need to beat Zanaco FC to be crowned Champions for the first time in the clubs history.

Any results apart from a win will mean the 13th title for Kalampa will become a reality.

For now we wait for more drama as more clubs have called on the Football Association of Zambia to have a league run up to week 34 or cancel it without crowning the champion.
