At the launch of signature verifiction excircise at Bomas of Kenya, mistakes of quick fingers withiout oberserving the cardinal rule, think before you speak, created a simple tweet that landed the chairman of the IEBC into trouble.

It was early this morning that a many Kenyans especially those supporting the former prime minster, took to their quick fingers too, to react to a tweet that seems to have been hurriedly put up by IEBC social media staff to inform Kenyans about the commences of the process.

In their wildest dreams, scribers of the tweet couldnt have imagined the amount of trouble their quick fingers could have caused the embattled body. Recently, the country’s election body has come under immense criticism and baptism of fire by a section of politicains led by the former prime minister who has not shown any love to it. He has actually attacked it in the open saying that the body is a conduit of corruption.

In some interview the former prime minster wondered aloud as he said,

‘ They are in office and earning a salary every month, but elections are every five years, so what is it they do in office every day?” he asks.

“Why do they need money to verify a signature? They need to use what they have.”

IEBC is on the receiving end with few Kennyans having trust in it. Whether Mr Chebukati together with his body will last in the office is a matter of wait and see, for now, the BURNING BRIDGES INITIATIVE tweet which has left the country waging tongues still rages on.
