Kenya National Council of Elders visit Mudavadi and Ruto thanking them for their bold and candid speeches at Bomas on Monday.

Smarting from his earth moving speech at Bomas of Kenya during the BBI launch, Anc party leader and 2022 presidential hopeful Hon Mudavadi hosted rare visitors at his Musalia Mudavadi center.

“I held a meeting with 26 members of the Kenya National Council of Elders leadership led by its Patron, Capt. Kungu Muigai, Chairman Phares Rutere, Treasurer Ahmed Sef and Deputy Chairman Major John Seii. Other leaders amongst them Philip Masinde and Sam Mumbi.

We discussed the challenges of this country at length where I urged the elders that although they should be non-aligned in matters politics, they should be firmly aligned against corruption, impunity, tribalism and divisive politics.”.

On Monday during the BBI launch, it is only Hon Mudavadi and DP Ruto who gathered enough courage to speak about the dragon in the BBI document.

Political observers see the move by elders to visit the two leaders as an endorsement for their bold and candid articulation of ideas

The same team of elders further held a lenghty talk with the deputy president at his Karen home.

The elders speaking to the Dp encouraged him to remain steadfast and preach peace for a united Kenya.

On his part, Dr Ruto promised to remain steadfast and help enhance one great nation where all are treated equally.

“The BBI process should be people-centred with no one left behind. All leaders must be involved. It should be issues-focussed so that ultimately we can have a more inclusive, cohesive and prosperous Kenya” Ruto said.

Both Mudavadi and Ruto are busy assembling their arsenal for a stab at the presidency in 2022 with Mudavadi’s Anc party having already cleared him to go for the top seat leaving Ruto to fight for Jubilee’s ticket
