Madam Kevina Oriedo or simply Mwalimu as many fondly call her is a woman on a mission. Her mission is not only confined to imparting knowledge to her learners but she goes beyond.
“Empowering women isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s the smart thing to do. A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong she is until you put her in hot water. If you empower women, you can change the world. Women have to harness their power” Believes Madam Kevina . It’s absolutely true!

Table banking is one way through which women folk in our county can pull their resoources together and achieve much thus improving lives.
Muhabini group is one such group that has benefitted immensely.
“I am always filled with joy whenever I see fellow women come together with a common agenda of improving lives. Iam happy that our table banking programme has enabled women to buy utensils . Mwanake ni jikoni iliyo poa” adds Madam Kevina.
Bodaboda.
“Boda boda industry has grown to apoint it is now a major employer. To harness it and ensure our young men reap well, we have always helped and encouraged them to form saccos which guarantees financial security for growth” Madam Kevina said while addressing a boda boda sacco in Luanda.
There is so much untapped potential in our people. As an educationist, Madam Kevina has not only taught people how to fish but has also walked with people in practically finding solutions.
“Iam happy that our people are quickly embracing the much needed change which has seen several self help groups spring forth. When people pull together the fruits are always there for all to see. Iam proudly associated with Muyembe self help group who have acquired public address thanks to the efforts of pulling together” concludes Madam Kevina.
As the political tide take shape and 2022 nears, many people have been calling on Madam Kevina to consider gunning for a county woman rep seat.
“Yes many people have called upon me to offer myself for a position but all I can say is that I have heard them but for now lets try and work on uplifting one another and especially during this covid 19 hard times” she adds
