.

ODM party postponed it’s  party primaries which were to be held on Thursday 21st April but has pushed it to Friday 22nd.

Heightened activities in Dagoretti North only goes along way to emphasize the importance with which aspirants are giving to the party primaries.

Amadi’s exit In Kileleshwa opens  it up for grabs.

With the exit of Elias Amadi who has since relocated to Suna East in Migori where he shall battle it out with Junet Mohammed, Kileleshwa is up for grabs.

Tollo the Kileleshwa ward contestant.

Trade unionist Perpetual Mpojiwa is contesting for the second term after coming second in 2017 while Blogger Robert Alai who initially  had put up his bid in Nyando switched base to Nairobi.

Others in the race include student leader Tolo and Victoria Alai. Who will it be?

David Ayoi of Gatina ward.
The first time MCA stands a better chance of winning both at party primaries and the eventual August elections.

Ayoi or Davido as he is fondly known in Gatina hit the headlines after defeating the incumbent Mike Obonyo who had done two terms in Gatina.

Ayoi who was little known in 2017 pulled the biggest surprise in Dagoretti North where he was the only new entrant to defeat an incumbent considering that both Munga of Kabiro, Amadi of Kileleshwa, Njogu of Kawangware and Ogeto of Kilimani retained their seats.

Upon clinching the seat Ayoi moved fast and embarked on a bigger plan to change Gatina ward.

Ayoi has refurbished roads that were in a sorry state before he was elected, lit up Gatina, distributed bursaries to all the needy students , put up a dispensary in Gatina one of its kind in Dagoretti north etc etc.

Ayoi came through for us during the hard covid times, he has been giving us food just to help us keep going. We shall vote him to a man because he is Godsend”  Mercy Njeri said.

With recent party sponsored opinion polls showing that Ayoi is way a head of the pack, it goes without saying Ayoi will easily clinch the seat.

“Those running against Ayoi are just novices with little to show. In a free and fair contest expect Ayoi to thoroughly beat them” Mary Makungu added.

Ayoi further received a major boost when several aspirants from UDA and ANC postponed their bids to back him.

Ayoi enjoys a fanatical following across all tribes with Luos, Kisiis  Tesos, Kambas , Kikuyus all backing him.

Ayoi comes from the populous Luhya tribe that enjoys largest voting block in Dagoretti North.
Political pundits are backing Ayoi to comfortably clinch the ODM ticket and eventually win the August elections.

Hon Moses Ogeto.

Ogeto urguably the youngest of all the MCA’s is again expected to clinch the seat he has had for the past two elections.

Ogeto enjoys the backing of University students.

As an alumni of the prestigious University of Nairobi, Ogeto who is currently the minority whip has exemplified leadership both in county assembly and outside.

An astitute mobiliser and a shrewd businessman, Ogeto is expected to beat his opponents to the ODM ticket.

In the absence of Jon Arati who is the Dagiretti North ODM boss, Ogeto has been fitting into that role albeit in acting capacity.

He however has to navigate his way around Osoro and Devina Arati who are keen on dislodging him

Munga and Ogeto expected to easily retain their seats.
In Kabiro Clarence Munga is poised to retain his seat. Munga a second term MCA is facing off with Happy Gloria who has the backing of ODM women league.

“Trouncing Munga is not easy, he has delivered on his manifesto and besides his down to earth demeanor and approachability makes him a darling of the people. We shall definately give him a third term” said Dennis Owuor a voter in Kabiro.

Upon navigating through party primaries, Munga will have to contend with opposition from Anna Robai Makawa popularly known as Senje wa Masenje who is riding high after clinching the UDA ticket.
