Cotu boss Francis Atwoli has called upon Mulembe Nation to rally behind Musalia Mudavadi for the community to have a realistic chance of pertaking of the national cake.
While speaking on Mulembe Fm, Dr Atwoli said he was perturbed in the manner in which luhya Mps were trooping to Sugoi and Bondo all in the name of securing community “interests.” Atwoli said he showed luhyas the way in 2016.
“In December 2016, Mr Mudavadi was anointed the spokesman of the Luhya community at Bukhungu stadium. We shall not sit and watch other politicians disrespect him,” said Mr Atwoli.
“I cannot, therefore, trust the DP & Raila because they have never had the interest of the Luhya community at all, and all they have done is pick leaders who will troop to their Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu County for handouts, and capital hill for favours ” added Atwoli.
Atwoli revealed that he was planning to hold a Bukhungu Two rally in Kakamega next year, 2021, where the community will be given direction on who to support in the 2022 presidential race.
“Our course as a community has been to elect leaders who are selfish and have no political stand of their own. All they do is cheer other leaders so that they can receive handouts, while those who elected them go hungry, this culture have no place in luhyaland come 2022” said Mr Atwoli.
“We want the Luhya community to have a big stake in the next government hence my being vocal in advocating for the Building Bridges Initiative because it will open up the political space and ensure all communities are represented in the next dispensation.” he said.
Those luke worm politicians have no space in luhyaland.
From the day Atwoli read the riot act through Mulembe Fm, many Luhya Mps have been trooping to Mudavadi’s riverside office to pledge their allegiance.
First were Matungu Mp Justus Murunga and Bumula Mp Mabonga and yesterday Jubilee’s Waluke came calling at Mudavadi’s office.
Early in the week Wangwe of Navakholo and Shinali of Ikolomani too paid Mudavadi a rare visit. All these are Ruto allies.
Unconfirmed reports indicates that the ANC rebels without a cause are also making frantic calls to the centre so that their time with ANC leader is booked or preserved.
