Apart from reassuring Kenyans that he is still the deputy president, Ruto said nothing!

Kenya’s deputy presidet never ceases to amaze. Ever since the first covid 19 cases was confirmed, Ruto retreated to his palatial Karen home. His highly publicized church appearances became a historical phenomenon.

Today when the office of the deputy president announced that Ruto was going to address the nation, many Kenyans expected a raft of new measures only for Ruto to carbon copy all that both the president and CS Kagwe have been saying.

@Steveogolla :Kenyans took to social media to register their displeasure..
City lawyer Steve Ogolla wrote:
WILLIAM RUTO here’s a summary of your statement today: “I am the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, and therefore competent to make this statement. I reiterate and adopt the measures outlined by government in the fight against #COVID19KE. I thank you all for coming.”

What is William Ruto struggling to say? Too much repetition and generic information! Not a good time to look for relevance.

While Lord Abraham Mutai did not have kind words for the number two.

Finally William Ruto resurfaces today to address the nation. Never seen a Deputy Commander in chief who hides during a national crisis. He should better have enough reasons for disappearing, hiding and abdicating duty at the time of a national crisis while drawing salary #COVID19

Some Kenyans went further and compared Ruto with Joho. So far Joho is the bench mark on how well to fight Covid 19.

“Defeating this virus does not require a nuclear bomb or a mighty army, but simple hygiene…” – William Ruto, Deputy President said.
