A Kakamega woman has shocked an entire village after she stubbed her husband over ugali.
The woman hailing from Ikoli village is alleged to have armed herself with a kitchen
knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach during the fight on Saturday night.
The couple is reported to have had a troubled marriage and efforts by elders to reconcile them had hit a dead end.
The deceased husband, identified as Brian Indimuli, was aged between 35-38 yrs. Brian succumbed to his injuries while he was being rushed to hospital.
According to neighbours, Brian had on several occasion complained of his wife being disrespectful and had served him the meal while she was drunk.
Mr John Indumuli, the father to the deceased said that his daughter-in-law served his son with a plate of ugali which accidentally fell over and the food landed on the ground, sparking off the fatal fight.
“A fight broke out after my son asked her why she appeared drunk. She fled from the house and came back armed with the knife and stabbed him in the stomach leading to his death,” said Mr Indumuli.
The 26 yr old after realising her mistake,she stabbed herself in the stomach.
Ikoli Sub-Location Assistant Chief Walter Namutali said the couple had issues and their marriage was on and off.
“ Elders have talked to them many times to try and resolve their differences hoping they would live peacefully but the disagreements have continued,” said Mr Namutali.
The woman is admitted at the Kakamega County General Hospital
