Sen Osotsi narrates how he outwitted police dragnet.

Wit, speed and quick thinking saved Vihiga senator from the dreaded Subaru boys.

Vihiga senator Hon Godfrey  Osotsi has spomen for the first time since news of his alleged arrest and detention surfaced.

According to the fiery Vihiga senator, an ill plan to arrest him and have him incarcerated was mooted and supported by a the security agencies working closely with a senior ANC member in Vihiga.

The Senator in a strong worded statement sent to news rooms described a telling state of affairs at Sosa cottages in Vihiga county where he was attending to his mandate as the county senator as a mini military barracks.

“Two anti-riot police lorries were stationed outside Sosa cottages with several others in plain clothes inside Sosa cottages ready to carry out the illegal arrest. I was aware that the arrest squad was in constant communication with a top ANC official and two term MP who were seated with other leaders at the function. Shame on the MP for being a conspirator against a fellow elected leader

The plot to arrest the fiery legislator hit a dead end as he outsmarted the squad through a timely undercover exit from the scene through a nearby exit before using several panya routes as the police were left chasing his convoy where they later learnt to their  utter dismay that they were on a wild goose chase, the senator had outwitted them.
.

Osotsi’s arrest was informed by the fact that the senator was plotting to sponsor people to heckle the president who was due to visit Vihiga on Saturday something the senator has vehemently denied.

The narrative that I was planning to mobilize people to heckle or disrupt Ruto’s meeting are unfounded and an excuse by a regime  that is suffering from an acute legitimacy deficiency. Iam a strong believer in the freedom of assembly as enshrined in our constitution and therefore I cannot plan a heckling activity. Besides the tour by Kenya Kwanza was a desperate political tour disguised as a development one. It was hurriedly planned by Kenya Kwanza leaning MPs to help them soften the hostile ground which is up in arms against the MPs for their support for the unpopular finance bill.” Said Osotsi.

Osotsi further wondered  why the planners of the visit by Ruto cancelled the planned visits  to Hamisi and Luanda.

“The eleventh minute cancellation of Hamisi and Luanda rallies only serves to show how unpopular this regime is here Vihiga.

Osotsi rubbishes Ruto’s alleged launch of a water project in Vihiga.

It is laughable that Kenya Kwanza regime out of desperation is launching projects that were earlier on launched by Uhuru during his first term. The water project that Ruto purports to launch was launched by Uhuru and commissioned by CS Cecily Kariuki. The project is actually 95% complete. It is disheartening to see the president talk of projects that the county government is undertaking as deliberated during our ICDP on Friday.
  .

Sen Osotsi has further called on Kenya Kwanza leaning MPs in Vihiga county to apologize for aiding Ruto in his ‘conmanship’ .

The legislator called out Kenya Kwanza MPs in Vihiga for begging for development by citing some ongoing projects while telling Vihigans that they voted for the punitive finance bill..

It is disheartening to hear the now monotonous chorus that one of our own is number 3 in command. Why would a number 3 join the chorus for development if indeed he is powerful? Instead our number 3 should tell people what  has become of the 1000KM of tarmac roads, revival of collapsed industries, setting up of industries in the 5 counties of the Mulembe nation.

The fiery lawmaker has also reiterated that the people of Vihiga will not be cowed into submission and the freedom to picket and demonstrate is a right enshrined in our katiba which should be excercised freely without  unnecessary police involvement  and brutality.

The MP has called  on Kenya Kwanza to henceforth stop victimizing elected leaders as they carry out their functions even as they remain alive to article 1 of the constitution that bestowes sovereign power on Wanjiku.

“I want to reiterate that I will continue to stand tall in defence of the rights of the people particularly my electorate. I shall not succumb to blackmail and intimidations at all” concluded the Vihiga senator.

By the time of going to press, Mathare MP Antony oluoch s whereabouts remained unclear after being arrested by security agencies along Ngong road.
