Nairobi Governor Aspirant Ngatia heads to Sagana 3 Uhuru meeting

Nairobi, 22nd February, 2022: The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) president Richard Ngatia will attend the Sagana three meeting that is expected to be led by President Uhuru Kenyatta tomorrow, Wednesday in Nyeri County.
The Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Ngatia has confirmed he will attend the Sagana meeting at which the president is largely expected to offer direction to his Mount Kenya political backyard ahead of the August 9th general elections.
Ngatia has urged other leaders in Mt Kenya to attend the Sagana three meeting to listen to Uhuru noting that the Head of state is the undisputed Mount Kenya political leader.
The much-anticipated Sagana three meeting at the Nyeri State Lodge is expected to take place on Wednesday and will be chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta. The meeting will bring together leaders from the Mount Kenya region.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of heightened political activity in the region with President Kenyatta’s two terms in office ending in August and all eyes will be on the President choice of a successor in the August Elections.
President Kenyatta is expected to publicly rally the region behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga whom he has fronted as his preferred successor. The region, which solidly rallied behind Uhuru is sharply divided with Deputy President William Ruto commanding a large following from the region as well.
The Sagana three meeting comes ahead of the Jubilee Party National Delegates Convention (NDC) slated for Friday and Saturday this week where the ruling Party is expected to officially rebrand and announce support for the party’s preferred presidential candidate Raila Odinga. Jubillee has already adopted new colours, symbol and flag. Jubilee party have since dropped the handshake symbol and reintroduced a symbol featuring a dove originally depicted in the TNA logo. The party has also dropped the yellow colour associated with Ruto’s URP which features prominently in UDA’s branding.
The Jubillee party was formed following the merger of President Kenyatta’s The National Alliance (TNA), Deputy President William Ruto’s United Republican Party (URP) and other smaller parties that supported President Kenyatta’s re-election in 2017.
DP Ruto has led a mass exodus from Jubilee stormed taking with him a majority of members including elected leaders and lawmakers. Ruto joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which has quickly gained a following in the President’s Mount Kenya backyard.
