Nominated MP Hon Godfrey Osotsi who is also a Vihiga senatorial aspirant has finally declared his vehicle of choice for his bid.
Speaking at Kidundu stadium in Vihiga county during a public event where he and other leaders helped raise funds for boda boda riders, Hon Osotsi declared that he will be seeking the ODM ticket for his senatorial bid in 2022.
Hon Osotsi has cut a niche for himself as apragmatic leader among the youthful politicians from the Mulembe naton.
Aformer ANC party SG and a founder member, Osotsi shot to national fame in 2017 when together with other IT experts, they detected the malpratices during tallying of presidential votes.
During the Supreme court ruling, lawyers heavily relied on his afidavit and knowledge which helped the NASA wing in nullyfying Jubilee”s win. Osotsi further went a head and declared Raila as the duly elected peoples president before the public swearing in at Uhuru park.
OSotsi fall out with ANC.
Osotsi told the cheering crowd at Kidundu that his troubles started after he said Eliud Owalo and Barrack Muluka intended to auction ANC to UDA. Osotsi was later vindicated when Muluka and Owalo joined UDA.
He further added that his political ideologies also contributed to his downfall as party members were not ready for new ideas.
“I have written several letters to the party for them to reinstate me in the party but up to now the party has never done so, this leaves me with zero options but to jump ship to ODM” Osotsi said amid cheers from the crowd.
Leaders present during Osotsi’s declaration were ANC’s Alfred Agoi and Beatrice Adagala, ODM members Caleb Amisi of Sabaot, Babu Owino of Embakasi East, Mark Nyamita of Uriri, Samuel Atandi of Alego Usonga, Busia Woman Rep Florence Mutua, Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo, Sifuna and a number of MCAs.
While welcoming Osotsi to ODM, party SG Edwin Sifuna congratulated Osotsi for joining the winning team and choosing to be on the right side of history.
“My brother Osotsi, welcome to the orange side and let us move it. Your arrival has added us the much needed impetus as we make Vihiga an ODM zone. We are now ready to sweep all the county seats ie Governor. Senator and Woman rep seat” Sifuna said as the crowd cheered him.
Osotsi said leadership is not about parties but individuals who are capable of leading this country.
“We should emphasise unity despite our political differences. That will help us improve the livelihoods of Vihiga ” he said.
Hon Osotsi will now fight it out with either Swadi, Babira or Simekh from ANC.
With no any other person having declared interest on ODM ticket, it is certain that he will be on the ballot
