Anc leaders led by James Gumo demand respect for Musalia Mudavadi.
A section of Amani national Congress leaders led by the aspiring Nairobi county branch chairman James Gumo have called on the party’s former SG and nominated MP Hon Godfrey Osotsi to desist from attacking the party leader Hon Musalia Mudavadi.
Speaking in Langata flanked by the ANC youth league leader for Nairobi Mr Duncan Kegode, Mr Gumo said that Mudavadi is a national leader who should be respected by all leaders from the vast Mulembe nation.
‘’Hon Mudavadi is a national leader who has set his eyes on the presidency and therefore we don’t expect Hon Osotsi to keep on disrespecting him whenever he has a chance to address the media. In this respect, we don’t only demand that Hon Osotsi respects Mudavadi but also he must respect other elected leaders like Sen Malala, Hon Adagala and Hon Khamala MP Lurambi. We are giving a notice to the nominated MP to henceforth cease his numerous attacks on fellow leaders’’. Said Gumo.
Over the weekend in an event in Kakamega, Hon Osotsi who is currently eyeing the Vihiga senatorial seat was in a foul mood and was short of calling fellow leaders as an untrustworthy lot.
The MP claimed that some of the leaders around Mudavadi were actually spies sent by Ruto to derail Mudavadi’s political journey.
‘’Those busy calling on Mudavadi to run for presidency are not honest, they are doing it mainly for their own political survival. Nobody can ever ascend to the presidency without the support of other tribes, Mudavadi should instead focus on wooing others tribes as luhyas on their own cannot make him president as opposed to the strategy employed by his henchmen of hurling insults on the former prime minister every time and again. You cannot win by disrespecting your opponent’’ Osotsi said.
In a videos that have since gone viral, both Hon Khamala Mp Lurambi and Hon Osotsi have traded barbs with Hon Khamala accusing Hon Osotsi of occupying a seat meant for women and disabled.
In a swift rejoinder, Hon Osotsi unleashed a video claiming that Hon Khamala and Sen Malala were actually Ruto’s blue eyed boys in Mudavadi’s camp.
It is this exchange that has infuriated the Nairobi county chairman Mr Gumo who has challenged Mr Osotsi to tone down or face the wrath of loyal Mudavadi supporters.
‘’Hatuwezi kubali Mhe Osotsi aendelee na huu mtindo wake wa kukejeli na kumtupia rais wetu mtarajiwa Hon Mudavadi cheche za maneno kila wakati. Osotsi anafaa ajue ya kwamba hata hii kiti anakalia ni kwa sababu ya Mudavadi. Hata Malala na Khamala ni watu wamechaguliwa na wananchi kwa hivyo lazima waheshimiwe pia, tutakanyaga hiyo Vihiga mahali anataka kiti ya useneta na tuhakikishe hatapata hicho kiti kwa sababu ya madharau yake’’ said Gumo.
An angry looking Gumo said that it will not be business as usual and anybody standing in the way of a Mudavadi presidency shall face it rough in Western Kenya
