Waithaka set to clinch Makadara UDA ticket

Prominent businessman and philanthropist Anthony Waithaka is poised to win the Makadara constituency United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party nominations that will be conducted tomorrow, Thursday 14.


Waithaka, today did his last minute voter mobilization in readiness for the big day tomorrow as he heads to the party primaries a clear favorite.
“Anto” as he is fondly known crisscrossed the constituency in final day vote hunting even as his ratings on the ground continue to sky rocket.


“We want to ensure we win this nomination resoundingly to indicate the huge victory that waits UDA come August 9th general election. I want to urge our voters to come out and vote for change that they desire and that is a vote for Anthony Waithaka to fly the UDA flag,” Waithaka said.


Research conducted among the residents of Makadara show Waithaka in the lead candidate and will garner more than double the number of votes his closest challenger will get.
Waithaka is running against three other aspirants, Julius Kaunda, who is expected to come a far distant second, Mathew Mburu and Daniel Kiplagat.
Voting is expected to open at 6:00 AM in twenty (22) polling stations within Makadara,
Waithaka is seeking to clinch the UDA ticket in his bid to unseat the current Member of Parliament (MP) George Aladwa.
The businessman has exuded confidence that he will carry the day tomorrow noting that he has covered the ground extensively and is expecting to win by a wide margin.
According to Christopher ‘Master’ Wanjala, a resident of Makongeni in Makadara, Waithaka is the only candidate who has made his impact felt by locals by being there for the residents and he, alongside a group of his peers vowed to rise early to vote for Anto .
