DMX wife Tashera Simmons celebrates her 50th birthday a day after her husband’s death.
In a long post on her Instagram, the former wife to the great rapper born Earl Simmons but popularly known as DMX Tashera Simmons said,
With much prayer, pulling. Crying and a roller coaster of emotions. I couldn’t bring myself to just celebrate and close the last 50yrs of my life without celebrating the life of one of the most important person in the world to me, my Ex-husband.
I know today is my day.
But I also understand that God is love.
So When God allowed me to open up my eyes and granted me the gift of life, I realize more than ever, that was my true gift today. Glory be to God!!
I am so grateful to God and Honored from the bottom of my heart,
For the opportunity while on this journey called life to join hands in marriage with a true disciple and Angel of God to do life with when we did. 🙏🏽
Everything we went through was necessary. It made me the woman I am today.
As I enter a new chapter in life, I don’t walk in it the same.
Life is so fragile and special at the same time!
My life lessons have raised me up to be a mighty warrior of God! Loving, resilient, and strong!
Father God, I take nothing for granted! I surrender all to you.
My only idol is you!
As I celebrate my life today, the best way I could without feeling selfish.

DMX who was one of the best rappers the world has come to know died of what has been termed as a Catastrophic’ Heart Attack. As the family announced his untimely death, rumors have emerged on social media purporting to suggest that the rapper died from different causes.
His family just said, Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever,” his family said in a statement Friday. “We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX.”
In a separate statement, White Plains Hospital where he met his death extended its “deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Simmons, as well as to friends and legions of fans who expressed their unwavering support during this difficult time. Earl Simmons passed away peacefully with family present after suffering a catastrophic cardiac arrest.” the statement read.
Even as the family calls for respect and privacy, fans have demanded an autopsy to be conducted to determine DMX’s cause of death. The whole world knows the rapper had struggled with drug addiction since his teenage years, first becoming addicted to crack cocaine when he was just 14. his uncle would not confirm previous reports that an overdose may have contributed to his heart attack. We pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace.
