Vihiga Mp’s p.a Mr Abubacar Wandala on the spot for blocking people from seeing their Mp.
It is easy to see the Pope than the Vihiga Mp thanks to his P.a Abubacar Wandala.
Vihiga constituency politics have reached fever pitch with several aspirants making serious inroads in the constituency.
Hon Kagesi the incumbent member is facing a stiff competition from the immidiate former Mp Hon Yusuf Chanzu and new-comer Amb Ken Vitisia.
Kagesi’s p.a Abubacar Wandala making matters worse for Hon Kagesi.
With Amb Vitisia declaring his bid on Anc ticket,pressure is now on Kagesi to up his game for him to retain the Anc ticket before meeting Hon Chanzu on the ballot.
This is however not a walk in the park considering that Kagesi’s team has its own misgivings which has split the constituents. One such guy is Kagesi’s personal assistant Mr Abubacar Wandala.
“It is so hard for one to meet the area Mp, his p.a Mr Wandala has made it harder to meet our Mp. Infact it is easy to see the Pope in Rome than our area Mp. We even wonder how the Mp can ably represent us in parliament without interracting with us. Whenever we seek audience with him, this man Wandala brushes us off. We even try to invite the Mp but all our invitations land on Wandala’s desk then you see him show up. Whenever the Mp sends donations, they end up in his pockets. We are tired of Wandala” a disgruntled voter Mzee Kenyani from Matsigulu said.
Other constituency members who spoke to us reiterated the same.
“We have struggled to get bursaries. Whenever the list of beneficiaries come out, all we see are cronies of Wandala. We miss the good old days when Chanzu used to do things in an open and transparent manner. Even on matters ANC party, it is only those in good books with Mr Wandala who are involved in party affairs. Windala has single-handedly brought Anc to its knees here in Vihiga” Jack Ombajo added.
Even as voices of discord continue in Kagesi’s camp thanks to Wandala, both Amb Ken Vitisia and Yusuf Chanzu have intensified their charm offensive on Kagesi.
Although Chanzu’s vehicle of choice in 2022 remains a well kept secret, voters on the ground are yearning for change.
Amb Ken Vitisia in the race to wrestle the Anc ticket from Kagesi.
Upon dethroning Bahati Semo and Andrew Ligale who had interchangeably controlled the politics of Vihiga, Chanzu immidiately established himself as the people’s servant earning himself the nick name ‘Mkombozi’.
The soft spoken mobilizer and peoples ‘Man’ ran for Vihiga governorship but lost to Hon Otichilo of ODM.
Upon losing to Otichilo,Chanzu stepped back on matters Vihiga politics leaving Ambassodor Ken Vitisia and Kagesi to run rings in Vihiga.
Amb Vitisia a career diplomat and a close ally of Hon Mudavadi is providing alternatives on matters Vihiga constituency leadership.
Will Kagesi surmount the pressure from Amb Vitisia on Anc?
Whether Kagesi will prevail against the two major rivals ie Chanzu and Vitisia remains a matter of time. However Kagesi’s p.a is not making things even better.
“We all know Amb Vitisia is a life member of Anc, but Wandala is going around discrediting him and telling people otherwise. In the ulikely event (Kagesi) beat Omusedi in a contest for the Anc ticket,we the Vitisia team will explore other avenues we cannot stand another 5years of Kagesi with Wandala running the show. It is Kagesi we voted for not Wandala” Mama Mary Andisi from Kidinya said.
The die is cast and if Kagesi want to have any realistic chances of defending his seat, rearranging his team may save him. People like Wandala should be shown the door at the earliest chance possible.

engaging with voters not using his handlers as the case is with Kagesi/Wandala outfit.
