Race for Fkf presidency underway as candidates present nomination papers.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee (NEC) and Presidential aspirants will present their nomination papers on Monday, August 31st to the FKF Electoral board.

According to the schedule released by the board on the electoral body’s website, candidates seeking for NEC positions will present their nominations in the morning between 9am-12 noon then presidential aspirants are primed to take the stage in the afternoon as from 2pm to 5pm.

Candidates for the NEC Coast representative post will be the first to present their papers at 9am to be followed by Western and then North Eastern within the same time.

At 10am aspirants eyeing NEC positions for Nyanza, Upper Rift and Lower Rift will follow in that order in presenting their nominations.

Women representative, NEC Central and Nairobi candidates will close the process for the national executive committee members presentation of nomination papers to the board.

In the afternoon, the process will resume with presidential candidates presenting their papers to the polls body.

The FKF Electoral Board has instructed those who had previously presented their nomination papers in the last cancelled elections will not present their papers afresh.

Those who had presented last time are ‘Zero Zero One’ Gabriel Mgendi (Coast), Councillor Michael ‘Chair’ Ouma (Nairobi), Mureithi Nabea (Eastern), Joseph Andere (Nyanza) and David ‘Shei’ Chege (Central).

Others were the Sultan Ahmad ‘Kador’ Dabbar, Bernard Langat (Upper Rift Valley) and David Bunei (Lower Rift Valley) and Tony ‘Bishop’ Kweya (Western).

Ahead of the March 27th elections which were cancelled by the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) all the aspirants seeking for NEC representative posts were unopposed save for the Women’s seat.

The Women’s representative post pitted referees instructor Margaret Omondi against her sole rival Shabana Chief executive Kerubo Momanyi.

The FKF Electoral Board has set October 17th, 2020, as the date for the national elections after the county/branch polls earmarked for September 19th, 2020
