Isiolo North MP aspirant Lucy Mworia condemns attack on Raila.

The Devolution Empowerment Party (BUS party) Mount Kenya East regional coordinator Lucy Mworia and Isiolo North parliamentary candidate Lucy Mworia has advised the youth to embrace skilled education and shun violence during the electioneering period.

Speaking in Isiolo, the former Ms President Reality TV Show contestant and women activist called on the youth to be wise and avoid being incited to violence by politicians. She condemned the acts of violence that were witnessed in Uasin Gishu where mobs pelted the helicopter ferrying former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during the burial of the late Mzee Jackson Kibor in Soi.

Look at the example of the youths who stoned Raila Odinga’s chopper, they are all arrested and the politicians who incited that are on with their next set of meetings. I urge you to avoid violence and embrace education,” Mworia said.

“Using social media to perpetrate violence won’t help you. Only education can help you so you need to be very careful. Our youth won’t be assisted by insults, and violence. That is what I am advocating for and that is what I want you to hold me accountable for once you vote me as your next MP,” She said.
Mworia adviced the youth to embrace technical skills offered by the technical institutes that the government has established.

Technical skills like construction and electrical works are courses being offered and they will benefit our children who opt not to continue with school program. Our youths are jobless because of lack of skills. Let us embrace technical education,” She noted.

At the same time, Mworia said that she will oversight all government projects that are not beneficial to the local residents.
Terming some projects as white elephants, Mworia said that utilities should be established to benefit the people and not just constructed for the sake of issuing tenders and get an opportunity to embezzle public funds.

Even here at Isiolo, a technical institution was supposed to be constructed but we have no such institution yet 81 million shillings was approved. The one that we have is in far-flung Marit in the bush and is not beneficial to our youth. Even this Isiolo air strip is just a white elephant with no benefits to the local community and I will ensure we oversight such construction to ensure our people benefit,” Mworia said.

Mworia is vying for the Isiolo North parliamentary set on a Bus party ticket under the Azimio la Umoja coalition. Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi is the party leader of the Devolution Empowerment Party (BUS party) that has a huge following in the areas of upper eastern.
