Oscar Kambona :Mulembe Youth Movement (MYM) a game changer on Luhya political future

Never underestimate a people who have the will and the resolve to forge ahead~author unknown.

Just like in other established democracies, the future of any nation lies in how the youths are treated and positioned for leadership.

The Luhya nation is not an exception when it comes to positioning itself for leadership.

The MYM (Mulembe Youth Movement) is therefore affording the otherwise many silent youths an avenue to emerge and pronounce themselves.

History has documented many sons and daughters of Africa who have done exploits in many spheres their age not withstanding.
Tom Mboya, Nyachae, Kibaki just to name but a few sprung into national limelight at relatively a young age.

The Anc leader Hon Mudavadi became an Mp and a minister at 29. All this was made possible because someone gave him a chance and nobody shoved him off nor showed him the middle fingure on account of his young age.

The Odm party has entrusted Omwami Edwin Sifuna the huge task of being the party’s secretary general. This is a plus considering that Sifuna is a leading light in MYM.

The current senator for Nairobi Hon Sakaja was also the youngest chairman of TNA when the party cruised to power.

It is therefore ridiculous when our senior politicians from Mulembe Nation descend on youthfull leaders like Hon Malala, Hon Osotsi with guns, machetes and mallets just because they hold a divergent view.

The Hon Wetangula, and Hon Mudavadi combined have over 50yrs of politics behind them having served from Moi era.
Instead of formulating ways of empowering the emerging crop of leaders, they are busy antagonising the very foundation that future leadership is anchored on.
#They have killed our past and shall never allow them rape our future” Kambona.

The recent events at Anc party where Hon Osotsi and Hon Malala were purportedly expelled albait unprocedurally rendering their expulsion null and void and the spirited sponsored smear campaign towards Sg Sifuna points to a current regime that is hellbent on maintaining the status quo at the expense of the youths.

In Kakamega the MYM has given the clearest indication that the youths in Mulembe nation is ready and willing to take over the mantle of leadership.

With Hon Malala, Hon Osotsi, Sg Sifuna, Hon Leyla Muhandale fighting to open up the political space for the young turks, we can rest assured that the future of Mulembe nation is secured. Our forefathers Masinde Muliro,Mudamba Mudavadi, Kijana Wamalwa can rest easy in their graves now.
