ANC expells Sen Malala for disrespecting the party by campaigning for Imran Okoth.

The governing council of the Amani National Congress (ANC) today has approved the expulsion of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala from ANC party.

The party’s disciplinary committee had in November last year suspended and summoned Senator Malala to appear and respond to charges made against him during an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party rally in Laini Saba Kibra during the by election in which Hon Imran Okoth won against Eliud Owalo of Anc.

“…your utterances, and activities at the political rally convened by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) at Kibra on October 27, 2019, prejudiced the integrity and reputation of the ANC Party, its members, and employees,” part of the letter addressed to Malala read.

Senator Malala however failed to respond to the charges and refused to appear before the committee to defend and or respond forcing the to expell him.

Malala becomes the second member to be expelled after Hon Godfrey Osotsi who has a pending case over his expulsion.
The meeting was held at Amani house attended by party boss Hon Musalia Mudavadi
