Suna East member of parliament Hon Junet Mohamed has become the first Mp to take the government to task over how it is handling covid 19 cases.
“This Government is behaving like it has suspended the Constitution. There is no country in the world that has reported cases of deaths through police brutality more than Kenya.“
“This Government has not done anything that is tangible other than announcing numbers every 3 o’clock.“
“This is one Government that could not even afford to give its citizens free masks worth 20 shillings leave alone food.“
“This is a Government that is unable to feed its people, give free masks to its people, give free sanitizers to its people, what else can they do? It cannot be business as usual and we keep quiet.“
“We are not going to allow this Government to contact trace people who have coronavirus in their homes, force them into quarantine and expect them to pay for their upkeep. “
“This Government must account for the money for Covid-19 shilling by shilling, penny by penny. This Covid-19 money, we want them to account to this house, coin by coin.”
“It is a shame that people sit in offices and use 4 Million to eat tea and mandazi when people are dying of hunger, not having masks, not having sanitizers and people are dying out of floods!“
“This is very shameful and you call yourself Government? If it was in democracies that have matured this Government would have resigned, we would have had a general election by now.“
